Double Shadow DJ Night this Saturday! Beauty Bar 10-2am

I'll be guest deejaying Double Shadow this Saturday from 10-2am.  It's a unique night focusing on entire songs (not the trendy mash-up variety) and a love for the vinyl record.  Think Morrissey wielding The Knife as he rides a Caribou and watching his Twin Shadow.  Click here to read about it.

What's New in Store This Week...

Although the weather says otherwise Fall is here and we've got some new fashions for men and women in store this week including, Heavy Rotation, Urban Behavior, LA Made and Neves.

Heavy Rotation is a Wisconsin based clothing line, Milwaukee to be exact, and they specialize in apparel fusing fashion and art. Here's just a couple of new designs that have hit our racks this week.

We restocked the ever-popular Neves belts in both black and brown leather this week. Those Maxine Deer belt buckles we got in last week would complement these perfectly along with the various other belt buckle styles we have in stock.

Also new in store this week for our men's section is Urban Behavior a line that has been creating clothing for fashion forward men and women since 1989. You'll just have to stop in to check out their hidden pocket design for button up men's shirts. While you're at it make sure to stop in and check out what's new on the women's side from LA Made, a company that's found the perfect balance with their knit basics with a twist.

Here's a new addition for you, a sneak peek at some new product we have coming our way from Inblue, based in Carbondale, IL. Mary Lynn is the designer behind this line of leather wallets and journals. Here's a peek at some wallets that will be making their way to us soon...

November Denver Made Interview: Sandra Fettingis

For the month of November we are setting our sites on local artist and jewelry designer Sandra Fettingis. Sandra Fettingis is inspired by portraiture, architecture and patterns and her minimal accessory line fulfills her love of clean, simple design. Born and raised in Chicago, Sandra has been calling sunny Denver, CO home for 4 years. Recently Sandra took the time to answer a few questions for us in preparation for her first Friday Denver Made trunk show here at Fancy Tiger Clothing.

FT: How did you get your start?

SF: I've been creating acrylic artwork since 2004, but it wasn't until 2008 when I serendipitously began designing acrylic jewelry to coincide with a solo art show at the Fabric Lab in Denver, CO.

FT: Where do you find your best inspiration for your work?

SF: I find A LOT of different things inspiring..  but, in the end my work is super influenced by the details all around us, specifically in patterns and architecture.

FT: What music do you listen to when you work on your product?

SF: More times than not, its ambient electronic.

FT: What would you like people to know about your work/process that isn’t evident when looking at it?

SF: That many times my designs start off pretty complex, but as I work they become increasingly minimal.

Make sure to join us Friday November 5th from 7pm-10pm at Fancy Tiger Clothing, 14 South Broadway for the unveiling of Sandra's new line of men's accessories. Enjoy beverages from Great Divide Brewery, light snacks and a stunning soundtrack all in celebration of local artist Sandra Fettingis.

See you Friday!

What's New in Store This Week...

Are you ready for the Fall? Don't worry we've got you covered, literally. This week the store is filled with new Fall accessories to update your summer look along with some necessary basics on both the men's and women's side of the store.

The West is Dead is one of the new Fall additions to the store with their warm 100% wool hats and passion to preserve the wild west. This American based line strives to use the best possible raw materials and they responsibly source and produce everything they possibly can in the U.S. These fall basics are great for both men and women.

We've also received some new Fall fashions from Farah to help you add a little English style to your everyday look. Stop by and check out the new long sleeve button ups and dress pants.

Why not complement your style with a one-of-a-kind belt buckle from the Ohio based husband and wife team, Maxine Dear. These buckles are made from vintage book covers sparing them from the dump and breathing new life into old classics.

Also new in store is the Los Angeles based line Trescis which is a blending of trends and basics. Made with a focus on detail, these basic pieces are constructed with the finest yarns for the moderate market including cotton modal. Make sure to stop in and check them out. Also fitting with the theme of basics we have American Apparel cotton leggings in a variety of colors to get you through the cooler months.

We've also been hard at work re-stocking local selections in store this week including new recycled leather cuffs from Jared, wallets and bags from Beans & Rice, crocheted neck cowls from becky's buttons & things, handmade clothing from Pearl and jewelry from She's Crafty. Jared is a local designer working in recycled leather to create unique wrist cuffs, his new styles incorporate buckles and pockets.

Beans and Rice is the newest line of Vegan-friendly bags and wallets from Fancy Tiger Manager Vanessa. These handmade vinyl creations are sure to complement anyone's style with their hand embroidered detailing of fruits, vegetables and insects.

Moving on to the work of another Fancy Tiger team member, Becky of becky's buttons & things has been busy crocheting some warm neck cowls to shield your neck from the elements. These 100% organic cotton creations are adorned with handmade fabric buttons and are available in six different color combinations.

Make sure to stop by this week to see what else is new in store.

What's new in store this week?

Well we have a lot to report on this week. Not only are our jewelry cases overflowing with new designers but we've been sneaking out more coats and basics to get you through the season. We also have some new designs in from some of our favorite indie designers, so without further ado I bring you what's new in store.

Ever since we met with Betsy of Betsy and Iya back in August we've been anxiously awaiting her line of vintage inspired, handmade jewelry. Through her use of mixed metals, vintage beads and bold style this Portland based designer has a style all her own.

This week we have also welcomed Portland based jewelry designer Heidi Cain and her line passionflower into our cases. We spied this line at the Pool Trade Show this year in Vegas and fell in love with her use of line work and color in the vibrant yet simple pieces of jewelry made from shrinky dink plastic. She transforms this nostalgic medium into simple, naturally inspired pieces that complement any style.

We've also added some new handmade pieces to our women's section in the form of new Fall designs from the North Carolina based line Just Like Honey Clothing. The designer behind this line, Lesley, uses new, vintage and recycled materials to breathe new life into her repurposed fashions. This season we are seeing a lot of bold patterns and casual cuts.

Over on the men's side we are stocking up on basics from American Apparel to get you through the Fall.

We are also seeing quite a few clothing designers using recycled materials this Fall, the newest addition being Cash Crop with their 100% recycled men's peacoat. This classic cut is created using recycled wool and recycled silk lining with the addition of coconut buttons. Also hitting the floor a long sleeve, button-up 100% organic cotton chambray.
