Restock of Figs & Ginger and Loyalty & Blood!

Loyalty & Blood was founded in 2006 by the husband and wife team David Denosowicz and Maggie Doyle. The idea of L&B was born in the couple's studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, where they design and produce t-shirts, tote bags, and jewelry.

Figs & Ginger is a husband and wife team making Eco-Friendly sterling jewelry. Each piece is made by hand and much of their work is inspired by the simple beauty found in forests, both imaginary & real.

Cute is in.

FANCY STYLE pt.3

We've always know that people come from miles around to shop at Fancy Tiger Clothing- but all the way from Texas?!? Ashley Murray, who was in Denver visiting her brother, was wearing this Adam Sikorski parachuting penguin tee when she stopped by the shop. Ashley, whose style is playful and relaxed, says that she always shops at the FT Clothing boutique when she is in town because the unique items are unlike anything she can find in El Paso, where she is attending grad school. She told us that, "El Paso doesn't have any cute, independently-owned shops with locally made goods-- only chain stores with generic, mass-produced style." But for this gal, who won't settle for looking like everyone else, Fancy Tiger is somewhere she can come to add some originality to her wardrobe. Past FT purchases that set Ashley apart from fellow Texans are a Funklectic vinyl record album bracelet and a Pistoli type key necklace. "I get a lot of compliments on the 'Tabular Key' necklace I got here." On this most recent excursion to Fancy, Ashley added an International Robot tee to her collection of super-soft Fancy Tiger tee-shirts. We think that yellow rose of Texas must look pretty pale next to Ashley's colorful style! Come on back 'n see us next time! Y' hear! -B.H.

Montreal Diary pt.1 - Oh Montreal...how I love thee

pt. 1 - Bikes

I took a break from my life in Denver, Colorado to travel to what had previously been one of my top picks of places to visit - Montreal, Canada.

Montreal is awash with all things amazing: historic architecture, mad fashion and style, French speaking, excellent music (think The Stills, Arcade Fire) , and as I just found out, cute humble road bikes. Sure, every town these days has its share of blinged out fixies that represent the newest in a certain subcultures obsession but Montreal has something more. Montreal has truly embraced cycling as a mainstay of their culture. It's not about riding the "right" bike. It's about riding a bike. That bike seems to be what in Denver would catch my eye as a hot vintage find. In Montreal that find is the norm. Yes, it's that European. Below were some of my more favorite regulars:

It gets better: The Bixi.
Bixi is Montreal's new rental bike program. placed no fewer than every three blocks, bixi stations made traveling on two wheels cheap and convenient. All it takes is a credit card and enough trust to overlook the License Agreement that was laid out exclusively in French.

Three gears, a light and a basket.
What more do you need to peruse the sultry streets of Quebec. Well...maybe an umbrella as we found out.

What's a linesheet?

Good question. I'll be teaching a class through Fashion Denver on July 22nd about this very topic. The class will be held at Fancy Tiger Clothing. Check out the description below:

Title: What's a Linesheet / How do I get my line into stores?

This class explores the three components involved in getting your product from the design table and onto the shelves of your favorite boutiques.

Topics include :

2. How to build a linesheet tailored specifically to the needs of a buyer
3. How to approach a store once you have the perfect linesheet.

Fancy Tiger Clothing owner, Matthew Brown, will teach you how to build a linesheet tailored to the exact needs of a buyer and show you how to get your line noticed. FANCY STYLE part 2

This weeks entry for Fancy Style goes to Shannon S. who was spotted on South Broadway sporting a Noo Works denim dress. This piece was a favorite of mine to come from the Spring/Summer line from Noo Works via Jen in San Fracisco. It's made from stretchy denim so the fit is snug but comfy. The elastic waistband makes for versatility and the v-neck can be left untied for a more casual look (as pictured) or just for some breathing room. I'm pleased with the simplicity in which Shannon outifts this dress...a brown leather bag, brown leather sandals and tortoise sunglasses...balancing comfort and summer casual without compromising classic style.

Thanks Shannon!

FANCY STYLE part 1

FANCY STYLE is a weekly entry that features different men and women that we find sporting wares from Fancy Tiger Clothing. This weeks feature exemplifies a perfect balance of two fashion elements currently ruling the streets, big bold prints and detail. You want to be noticed, even up close, try either one on for size.

Allison M. was in town working on her Montesori Masters degree for zero to three year olds when she found our store and discovered this dress that looks like it was made for her. The fit is impeccable and the hints of peach fabric even match her skin tone. The neckline detail stands out from afar and you can't help but notice the two-tiered bottom that hints of a shorter style without the risk.

Thanks to Allison and Tulle Clothing for good taste!

This dress is currently available @ Fancy Tiger Clothing.
