Stripes - This spring is full of stripes! Stripes can be tricky, but if worn
correctly they can flatter a variety of body types. This stripped tank by Alternative Apparel is a perfect
example of how stripes can be flattering; the chevron formed by the stripes
coming together in the center is universally slimming. Vertical stripes immediately lengthen
the body and are best worn on a maxi skirt or pants. Test out the trend with the stripped weekender bag by
Fredd and Basha.

Mix n Match Pattern - Don’t let this trend intimidate you, it
is so easy and fun! Experiment
with pieces you already have to find a combination that you feel comfortable
in. Not all patterns should be
worn together, and it is usually best to break up the mixed patterns with a
solid piece; like a belt or a blazer.
Consider the size, boldness and color of the pattern. Pair a bold stripe
with a small floral print, while a bold floral design can be balanced with a
pin stripe. Pull one or two colors
from a pattern to match another print. Here is a mix n’ match chart of patterns to help start
wearing the trend.

Pleats - This trend is perfect for warm Spring and summer
days and it is very easy to wear. Pleats were seen all over the runways at the
Spring/ Summer collections. Designers
have forgotten the stiff reputation of the trend and replaced it with soft,
flowing pleated skirts and dresses. Pleats can easily add a dressy feel to any outfit. Try out the trend with this skirt from
Purple Clover.
